Day One's programs operate on an empowerment model that invests young people in maintaining safe relationships for themselves and their peers, and engages youth in designing projects to raise awareness in their communities. 

All direct services for youth under the age of 24 are free and available in English and Spanish.

Community Education

  • Interactive workshops for young people in middle school, high school, and college that address the warning signs of abuse, dynamics of power and control, different types of abuse, and helping a friend

  • Trainings for students to become peer educators or peer leaders in their schools

  • Professional trainings for adults who work with youth addressing the fundamentals of dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking; Title IX; domestic sex trafficking/commercial sexual exploitation of youth; and resources for young survivors

  • **New trainings for children (K – 6th grade) and adult influencers

Direct Services

  • Legal advice, information, and full representation for youth seeking orders of protection, custody/visitation, child support and/or domestic violence-based immigration help

  • Individual and group counseling and case management services

  • Advocacy and support navigating the criminal court system with the goal of obtaining an order of protection

  • Advocacy in an educational setting, such as assistance in obtaining a school safety transfer

Youth Voices Network

  • Advocacy group for young survivors of dating violence who work on outreach and awareness projects

Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP)

  • Partnership with seven New York City high schools to provide comprehensive, school-based outreach, education, and counseling on teen dating violence and healthy relationships

  • Early RAPP (ERAPP) partners with middle schools to provide students with foundational skills and tools to build healthy and safe relationships
